Military / Overseas Voters (UOCAVA) Absentee Ballot Application

Instructions to Alabama UOCAVA Voters

In 2009, Congress enacted important changes concerning absentee voting under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act, 42 U.S.C. § 1973ff et seq. (UOCAVA) and the Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment Act, Pub. L. No. 111‐84, Subtitle H, §§ 575‐589, 123 Stat. 2195, 2318‐2335 (2009) (MOVE Act).

Alabama UOCAVA voters will now have two options as to how they can receive blank absentee ballots. As a UOCAVA voter, you have the choice of receiving an absentee ballot (1) by electronic transmission for all offices; or (2) you may choose to receive your absentee ballot by U.S. mail.
